Sons Dutasteride Spray is an unlicensed topical treatment for male pattern hair loss that combines Dutasteride 0.1%, Minoxidil 5% and Tretinoin 0.01% in a once-daily formulation.

Dutasteride is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor that blocks both type I and type II enzymes responsible for converting testosterone to DHT, the main hormone behind androgenetic alopecia.

Minoxidil is thought to work by increasing blood flow to the scalp and revitalising hair follicles, while Tretinoin is included to enhance the absorption and efficacy of Minoxidil.

The formulation was developed as a next-step treatment option for men with male pattern hair loss who have not responded as they would have liked to finasteride-based treatment plans.
