Emla 5% cream (lidocaine 2.5% w/w and prilocaine 2.5% w/w) is a topical local anaesthetic
indicated to numb the skin before needle insertion and superficial surgical procedures. It can also be used before procedures such as laser hair removal. Emla has been licensed for use in the UK for over 30 years.
Emla is a licensed Pharmacy medicine and is available in 5 g (with and without dressings), 5 × 5 g and 30 g, providing a choice of pack sizes for use across different treatment areas and
procedures.
