Lip enhancement procedures involving dermal fillers are one of the most sought after nonsurgical aesthetic treatments. Traditionally, the treatments involve injections of the vermillion border with little attention to the lip tubercles which appear to play a significant role in both the individual shape and function of the lips. This talk will focus on normal lip anatomy and will address its importance, including an understanding of embryology for safer practice and natural looking results. The Nonsurgical Lip Tubercle (NLT) technique will be used as an example which works holistically and artistically with the individual’s natural presenting anatomy to maximise safety while optimising outcome.
